His Life.

Just as America celebrates her independence day on 4th July, in 1957 July 4th, a child on this day was born far away in ijebu-ode, Ogun state of Nigeria. As the destiny of America was still flourishing to be a world power so also that of little ola oduwole was replicating, for him to grow in the area of his discipline, medicine.

He did not only dominate but also has full control of ideas on how to use these to develop humanity. This is the position Dr. Ola Oduwole is presently occupying from where he operates in the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo state. Dr. Olatunbosun Oduwole was born into a humble family at Uriah Heep in Ijebu-Ode.

He started his educational career at Ibadan municipal government primary school in 1964, from where he later proceeded to Adeola Odutola college, Ijebu-ode for his secondary school in 1970 to 1974. Dr. Oduwole’s brilliance was exemplified in his results as he came out with flying colors and he was immediately granted admission into international school, university of Ibadan for his higher school certificate course in 1974-1975. The advanced level results were likewise wonderful.

 

In the same year was offered admission to read medicine, which had from his youth been his desire of his heart. Dr. Olatunbosun Oduwole bagged his degree of bachelor of medicine (surgery) from the University of Ibadan, the Nigerian premier university in the year 1981.


During the course of studying in 1978 his contribution got noted and rewarded in the field of his endeavour by the federal government of Nigeria with National Academic Award as an outstanding scholar of the University of Ibadan.
This unique feat served as a kindle of fire which from that moment sky no longer the limit of achievements to be recorded, but Dr. Oduwole looked unto heaven. Heaven as well did not disappoint this medical guru as awards started to fall on each other like pack of cards. In 1982-1983, he was awarded with the best corp member by the Gongola state government (now Adamawa state) where he served his National Youth Service Corps.


1990-1991 were no exception as Dr. Oduwole bagged the merit award of the rotary club of Ibadan, district 9130 Nigeria. As America was progressing in her dominance of world power in the 90’s so also Dr. Oduwole who shared the same fate was also propelling him to stardom.

 

In 1994-1995 when a distinguished award was to be given to an outstanding individual for their contributions, the award fell on him from rotary club of Nigeria, district 9130 Nigeria. When he became a one-star Harris fellow, an honour which is not quite easy to come by.

The most recent award was Award of recognition and Excellence given in 2007 by Linfield communication Ltd in association with Nigeria Institute of Planning Leadership and General Management.


He was appointed the Director of Programme with the NNDDR in 2002 a position be held till year 20005 before he gave it up to be able to concentrate on a more large calling in his field.
In 2003. Dr. Ola Oduwole became a fellow of Association of general and private medical practitioners of Nigeria. This the body that oversees and assesses contributions of practising medical doctors in the country.


Between 2001 – 2005. He held some notable position in the society such as chairman, committee on health for development network (DEVNET). This be held until 2004 when his term expired.


In 2002. He was the vice – chairman, CISHAN oyo state chapter till 2005.

 

In 2003. Dr. Oduwole was appointed adviser on three life supporting medical jobs.

Positive life association of Nigeria (PLAN) and the Association of community birth attendants of Nigeria (ACOMBA).
