ABOUT QUEEN'S SPECIALIST HOSPITAL

 

The Hospital:

This 6-bed cottage Hospital was established in 1985 with the aim of providing Health Care service at primary and secondary with well-established referral linage with the University Collage Hospital (UCH) Ibadan for tertiary Health service.
 The hospital is fully accredited by the Nigeria Medical and Dental Council (NMDC) and up-to-date by the registration with Oyo state Ministry of Health.


Clinical and Medical Diagnostic service offered include in-and-out-patient basis of general Medical practice and specialized consultancy/surgery, Family planning and reproductive Health Services, Ultrasound Scanning, ECG, Cardiovascular Risk Assessment services, Maternal and child Health, Comprehensive Medical check-up, Health Fitness Clinic etc. All service are available 24 hours daily including Emergency. However, Clinic hours (Regular consultation) is between 8.00am and 9.00pm.

 

The management of the hospital is under the leadership of Dr. (cheif) R. Ola Oduwole (chief medical director) who is 1981 graduate of college of medicine, university of Ibadan with lots of experience in zgeneral medical practice and recognized FELLOW of association of general and private, medical practitioners of Nigeria. He was received special training in family planning and reproductive health including IUCD insertion, post abortion care, minilaparatomy under local anaesthesia for bilateral Tubal Ligation, vasectomy, Norplant insertion and managed same project for Engender health international (NGO).

 


CONCERNED OTHERS.

The CMD is also the founder and president of ASSOCIATION OF CONCERNED OTHERS – prevention, support and care NGO (Non – Governmental Organization) on the HIV/AIDS, family planning, reproductive health and primary prevention of cardiovascular disease. The staff strength include viz:-

  1. Two full time doctor – registered with Nigeria medical and dental council (MDCN)
  2. Part time gynaecologist, surgeon physician, paediatrician,
  3. One matron in charge of nursing care
  4. 4 qualified nurse
  5. One laboratory technologist
  6. One ambulance with driver
  7. (6) Ward attendants, (2) wards maids.
  8.  2 administration staff.

 

The clinical and diagnostic service available include viz:-

  1. General medicine
  2. General surgery (minor & major)
  3. General care, infant welfare, family planning (Norplant insertion BTL vasectomy).
  4.  Physiotherapy unit
  5. Pharmacy
  6. Labouratory service
  7.  Ambulance service
  8. ECG – 3 – channel 12 leads, self – interpreting
  9. Cardiovascular risk assessment service – NHIS accredited cardiac centre
  10. Ultrasound diagnostic service – NHIS accredited Ultrasound centre.
  11. HIV/AIDS – prevenvtion, support and care (counselling & testing O is Management, PMTCT etc)
