FATAL HEART CORONARY HEART DISEASE CAMPAIGN/ CARDIOVASCULAR ASSESSMENT

PREVENTION OF FATAL CORONARY HEART DISEASE(CHD) CAMPAIGN:-

1. Prevent stroke (paralysis), heart attack, untimely and sudden death.

2. Know and control your modifiable “RISK FACTOR”.

3. Do your “cardiovascular risk assessment” today (heart and blood vessel disease).

10 - YEAR PREDICTION AND PREVENTION OF CORONARY(FATAL) HEART DISEASE:

You should know your:

1. Cardiovascular “RISK PROFILE

2. “10-year risk” of cardiovascular disease (heart attack and fatal coronary events – angina stroke).

3.  Cardiovascular age (Age of your heart).

4. Life-style risk (modifiable) factors.

5. Emerging risk and Non-modifiable risk factor.

BACKGROUND:

According to world heart  federation and world health organization (WHO), over  seven (7) million heart attack and five(5) million strokes occurs in a year resulting into more than one third(1/3) of the world’s death. Two (2) of every three (3) persons Have high blood pressure and high cholesterol and one (1) of every three (3) person is obese. In every 2mins. 1 person is being confirmed dead due to cardiovascular disease (WHO) report 1990).

Among some individuals, the blood supply to the heart muscle, the brain and legs is reduced due to one or more blockages in the arteries. These blockages are usually the result of arteriosclerosis or “hardening of the arteries”. To some extent, hardening of the arteries is an aging process.

However, there are various factors that may accelerate this process. Some of these “risk factors” are not modifiable such as your family history (the genes you have inherited from your parents). Other risk factors can be modified including elevated serum cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), high blood pressure (hypertension), and cigarette smoking. Every individual is “at risk” for cardiovascular disease.

Cardiovascular “risk profile” is in individualized assessment of your current risk. The computer will estimate your risk of developing cardiovascular disease (heart attack and fatal coronary events) over the next ten years, and compare it to the current risk among your age and sex. The computer also estimates the age of your heart. you can also access our cardiovascular disease risk reduction (CVDRR) program for therapeutic life style changes (TLC) and treatment.
